Previously, banners were the exclusive domain of Internet advertisers. This is no longer the way it is. Mail Order dealers now have a place they can promote their programs, dealerships, adsheets, services, etc., using powerful banners at a very low cost.

OK, so you want to see a sample of what I mean. Just look above under our JKFile.com logo. See the banner displayed up there between the lines? YOUR message could be on a banner like that too- it can even be animated.

To see how the system works and rotates. Depress your <shift> key - with the key down, click on your browser refresh button way up top. What you are doing is clearing the 'cache' and allowing a refreshed or new page to be viewed. This is the same as opening the page for the first time - you will see that each time you do this, a different banner appears. Ah, so that's why they call them rotating banners - cool.

Having your banner in the rotation will display it in rotation as folks visit this page.

But wait! Not all that many visitors come to this page - so no big deal, eh.

NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!

SO — what we have done is have our banners rotate on several sites, and several pages within those sites PLUS on the sites of other dealers. Now that IS a BIG deal! A lot of technical stuff goes into having a system that will rotate the same banners on several different sites and pages at the same time...not to mention the cost. This can result in thousands of new prospects seeing your banner.

Most mail order dealers will not have banners ready to go, in correct size and in correct format. But if you do, we can use your banners. I also make banners for you as part of the deal - No Extra Cost To You. Many are animated - that is, parts of the display moves or flips from page to page within the banner. Animated banners are restrictive based on the fewer number of words used. Static banners will be used if too many words are required. Wording should be VERY limited.

When thinking of banners - you should keep in mind the fewer the words, the better the banner. A banner does it's best work when used to grab attention - then click on it to a website or email form. When you have neither of those, a postal mailing name and address also works. Just keep your wording limited - GRAB their attention, make the banner easy to read - and wanting MORE information.

TIPS about banner wording and design.

1. Ask for an action: What do you want people who see your banner ad to do? Most likely, first and foremost, you want them to simply click on it, so be sure your ad says so.

2. Keep it simple: Your banner ad may only have a few seconds to make its impact on the viewer. As a result, it must be able to convey your message in a small amount of time. By keeping your ad's concept and wording clear and concise, you increase the likelihood that the viewer will actually get your message. Remember, if the viewer can't easily and quickly understand what your banner ad is saying, it is unlikely he/she will click on it. Use the fewest (and most simple) words you can. Just because you can fit more words in your ad doesn't mean you should. Once someone clicks to your website, you'll have ample opportunity to provide more details.

3. Use words that raise attention or emotion: Words like "free", "special offer", "secrets", etc. help grab the viewer's attention and increase his/her curiosity in your offer. Try this technique: pretend you are reading your banner ad's text for the first time: would YOU be interested in or excited about what it offers? If not, then most people probably wouldn't be either.

4. Emphasize benefits, not features: What is the difference between a "benefit" and a "feature"? In simple terms, a "feature" is a service or an aspect of a service that you offer. A "benefit" is the actual impact it has on your customer. Let's say your site offers income tax services. Which of these is more enticing: "We speciallize in finding deductions" (a feature) or "Pay less tax" (the benefit)? Advertisers realized long ago that more than anything else people want to know how your product/service can improve their lives.
